This week I’m carrying forward the paternal line of Manoel Paiva Braga–and it’s not Braga 😉 This continues the de Braga line that I posted about a few weeks ago.
The Paiva’s line originates in Achada Grande, Nordeste, Sao Miguel Island, Azores. It then moves to Maia, Ribeira Grande, same island around 1700.
Joao de Braga was born ca 1770 in Maia. Her married Maria do Espirito Santo. Joao de Braga is my 4th great grandfather.
Joao’s parents were Manoel Paiva de Braga and Isabel do Couto. They were married in Maia 29 Mar 1781. Inexplicably, this line follows the paternal surname just to keep us on our toes 😉
The last couple in this line are Manoel Paiva and Maria Alvares. I do not have any information on them.
