As many of you know, my Dad passed away in May. I am now in the process of moving from this home to my Mom’s house.
I have been packing boxes for two weeks. I’ve found things that I’m definitely going to share for Treasure Chest Thursday. I’m sneezed more dust than a human should be subjected to. And, I’m sick of dead rubber bands that look like worms.
As it gets closer to moving day, I won’t be blogging much. I am trying to remember all the things I should do for protecting my genealogy. I’ve got my flash drive right here. This weekend I will back up my databases and any files that need to be done, too.
I put my current genealogy research in a box that I hope I will find easily. I’ve got photos in one box, letters in another. I honestly tried to file before I started packing but it became a losing battle. That will be one big job when I’m moved. But at least all that stuff is in one place now rather than spread over several nooks and crannies like it originally was.
I’ve been taking Misha to her new home to prepare her for the change. After the behavioral changes she experienced after my Dad’s death, I’d like to keep her anxiety at a minimum. Luckily, she and my Mom get along well. She has already figured out that my Mom’s drops Cheerios under her living room chair 😀
In a couple of days, I will be sending out emails from a new account. After I move, I will attempt to get AT&T to merge my account with my Mom’s. Considering the terrible customer service I’ve gotten in the past pertaining to my Internet account, I have little faith that they’ll do it right.
I’m off for another of life’s adventures. I hope to be back to regular blogging soon. I also hope to be back to my RSS feeds. I miss reading my favorite bloggers!
If you think I should be doing something, remind me in the comments :D.
Thanks for everyone’s patience!
