Index to Passenger Manifests for Hawaii Online
Well, well, well! It looks like Hawaii has finally entered the digital age. Behold, the link to the Index for Passenger Manifests I know I am not the only one who is happy about this!
The index covers 1843 to 1900. It includes these indexes:
Index to Chinese Passenger Manifests
Index to Portuguese Passenger Manifests
Index to Japanese Passenger Manifests.
I haven’t had a chance to do too much searching. The main pages does note that “de” and “da” names are recorded as: Silva, Manoel de rather than de Silva, Manoel. Keep that in mind. Try several different searches before giving up. You just don’t know how the name has been recorded.
